Over the past few days my blog has been subjected to a number of spam comments from one individual, who has been requested to stop ... but who has not. I have therefore introduced comment moderation, which will remain in place until this particular individual stops spamming.

I regret having to do this as it will affect my regular blog readers ... but I don't see that I have any alternative at present. Hopefully normal unmoderated service will be restored in the very near future.

  1. I am vexed for you Bob ,I hope it stops soon.

  2. We all get them from time to time, they're a right royal pain in the posterior!

  3. I had a problem with a spammer over the last weekend and switched to pop-up comments which has the "I am not a robot" tickbox. That seems to have cured it.

What sort of spam was it they were posting? My spammer was repeatedly posting links to American football games.

  4. I use comment moderation 'just in case' but have not had to put up with any malicious comments. Why anyone would waste his time doing that is beyond me. In any case keep up the great work with your blog, which I look at regularly.

  5. Hi BOB- I was wondering why my comment on your previous post had not shown - thought something was wrong...Can you report the activities of the Spammer to an authority such as 'Google' who can possibly block the incoming comments of the Spammer...I do not know how to help you as I have had no experience of this sort of problem. Hope you can get back to normality with your blog soon. Regards. KEV.

  6. Thanks to everyone who commented about this spamming incident.

I managed to deal with it temporarily whilst I was on my recent cruise, and hope to remove my comment moderation block in the near future.

The individual concerned has been reported, but as yet I have heard nothing and no doubt they will be spamming someone else.

    All the best,
