I began flocking the bases of my 20mm World War Two collection with natural-coloured cork granules a few days ago, and so far I've completed about a third of them. I've not rushed to complete this task as I'm doing a bit of reorganisation as I proceed.
I estimate that it will take me another week or so to finish this, and by then I hope to have the first draft of the latest iteration of RED FLAGS & IRON CROSSES ready for some play-testing using the newly revitalised collection.

ReplyDeleteJust a quick question for you - what is your basing standard in terms of figure multiples for the WW2 collection? Are you using singles or twins etc? Is it still the same as for the pictures above, flock notwithstanding?

DeleteAfter a LOT of thought, I decided to base all my figures on single-figure bases as it is a more flexible option. If I want multi-figure bases, I can always use Warbases sabot bases.
I hope that your ‘friend’ finds this useful.

PS. My single-figure bases are almost all new, steel one pence coins. They are cheaper than washers (!!!!) and magnetic.
Good to see you making progress on this front now you've decided which route to go down. I can see why the cork granules work better with these hex tiles than classic old school green.

DeleteIt’s the sort of task that I can easily fit in with some of the day-to-day calls on my time (e.g. gardening, taking my wife shopping, visiting the hospital). I can also do it whilst listening to TMS!
As the cork granules are naturally coloured and not dyed it also means that there are no problems with matching the colour of the batches of flock that I use.

I hope to get more information about when my radiotherapy will start when I see the consultant.later this month.
