I recently acquiring three more 1/1200th-scale models of Imperial Japanese Navy destroyers. They are IJNS Fubuki (a Type I Fubuki-class destroyer), ...

... IJNS Amagiri (a Type II Fubuki-class destroyer), ...
(2,090 tons; 38 knots; 6 x 5-inch guns; 18 depth charges; 9 x 24-inch torpedo tubes)
... and IJNS Hatsuharu (a Hatsuharu-class destroyer).
(1.530 tons; 36 knots; 5 x 5-inch guns; 18 depth charges; 6 x 24-inch torpedo tubes)
Thanks for these pics, Bob. Methinks these could advise my building 'to scale' models for my 'Mighty Armadas' navies. So far, I have scratchbuilt 4 'Narvik Class' destroyers to go with the 'Bismarck-like' 'Leviathan Class' of the Kiivar Navy, and the Ra'esharn have only the one 'submarine hunter' type by way of light craft.
ReplyDeleteI guess the Saabian navy will have to add a couple of some USN type. Very much on the back-burner, this project. The Narvik Class I built a few years ago...

Archduke Piccolo (Ion),
DeleteCheers! I am very pleased that these were of use to you ... and I have just acquired another heavy cruiser and eight destroyers(!) to add to my Imperial Japanese Navy collection. I also hope to acquire another battleship (the Nagato), which will give me a 'fleet' of three battleships, three heavy cruisers, two light cruisers, and thirteen destroyers. All I need now is a couple of aircraft carrier!
All the best,
Bob
That is quite a task force, Bob, even without a carrier. Definitely enough for a major campaign!

DeleteCheers! I think that this force could give a good account of itself against an enemy battle fleet ... but it would benefit from some air support in the form of an aircraft carrier or two.
All the best,
Bob
