14,000,000 hits!
The AI bots are still at it … and last night my blog achieved fourteen million hits!
- Thirteen million hits: 16th May 2026
- Twelve million hits: 10th April 2026
- Eleven million hits: 3rd March 2026
- Ten million hits: 3rd February 2026
- Nine million hits: 16th December 2025
- Eight million hits: 4th October 2025
- Seven million hits: 26th July 2025
- Six million hits: 6th September 2024
- Five million hits: 20th January 2024
- Four million hits: 8th November 2021
- Three million hits: 6th December 2018
- Two million hits: Unsure
- One million hits: 25th December 2015
It is also interesting that passing one milestone took place as another was also reached.
6,000 posts!
At least this achievement has nothing to do with AI bots! This blog post is the six-thousand and first blog post that I have written sone I began this blog on Thursday 18th September 2008. I have not idea how many words that is ... but it certainly must be quite a few. The blog has also had almost 50,000 comments, half of which have been my replies to comments made by blog readers.
As ever, I would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to the regular blog readers who continue to read and comment on my rambling blog posts. Long may you continue to do so!
Congratulations on hitting 6,000 posts Bob, a tremendous achievement.
ReplyDeleteDonnie McGibbon,
DeleteCheers! I must admit that I did not realise just how many blog posts I had written ... but I've enjoyed blogging and how to continue to do so for as long as I can.
All the best,
Bob
The 25,000 comments is an amazing response that is well deserved. Thank you for all the great posts over the years.
ReplyDeleteWEK 3,
DeleteFrom the very beginning I've made it a rule to respond to every comment that a blog reader has made. It seemed to me to be not only polite but also a recognition of the contribution regular blog readers have made to the success of this blog.
All the best,
Bob
6000 posts is remarkable - congratulations Bob!
ReplyDeleteThat’s our wonderful hobby, still giving content and company after all these years.
Best Wishes from Mark Man of TIN
P.S. Despite being a Man of TIN, I can confirm that I am not a ro-BOT.
Mark, Man of TIN,
DeleteCheers! Thanks for your best wishes … and that both of our blogs continue to flourish!
All the best,
Bob

Upon the cyber stream -
Merrily, verily, cheerily, airily,
Life is but a screen.
I rather think, Bob, that, apart upon from recent visitations by bots, the reason for your 14 million hits is your 6000 posts. My own blog has just past 800 posts, so I can be pretty happy with 1.7million 'hits' and 7000+ comments. Mind you, the quality of output will also have had its impact upon your readership! I must have contributed several hundreds, if not thousands, to the number of hits on your blog!
Cheers,
Ion
Archduke Piccolo (Ion),
DeleteThanks very much for the excellent poem! I have printed it off and hope to put a copy on the wall of my toy/wargame room ... when I get it back!
Thinking about it, I'm sure that you are right about output generating hits. The more I write, the more people seem to want to read. I also think that responding to reader's comments has helped me to write better blog posts, to write them regularly, and to make my blog more or a conversation between me and my readers. You seem to have done something similar ... and have also enjoyed growing online success.
All the best,
Bob
Congratulations! The numbers of posts and comments confirm the quality of this blog even without the bots. Your blog is my first internet stop every day. 😁👍
ReplyDeleteMark Cordone,
DeleteCheers! Thanks for your kind comment ... and for making my blog your first port-of-call each day!
All the best,
Bob
6000 posts is an awe-inspiring number Bob - I'm looking forward to the next 6000 👍
ReplyDeleteMaudlin Jack Tar,
Delete6,000 post sounds a lot ... but they were spread over eighteen years. I just hope that I'll still be blogging when the total reaches 10,000 posts!
All the best,
Bob
I'm defiantly not up to these visiting numbers, but I notice that I receives increasingly numbers of re-directions from your blog. This can off course have connections to the increased number of A.i. bots.
ReplyDelete6000 posts since 2008 is very impressive Bob! That's like almost a post a day.
Roger,
DeleteI suspect that the AI bots do follow the hotlinks I add to my blog posts ... but I also hope that they encourage real people to visit other wonderful blogs like yours.
All the best,
Bob
Thank you Bob
DeleteRoger,
DeleteIt's my pleasure to direct potential readers to visit your wonderful blog.
All the best,
Bob
Getting the same thing here. Since hitting my first million over 12 years I've clocked up another 400,000 or so - in 3 months!
ReplyDeleteRob Young,
DeleteMy 'hit rate' was a slow burn for many years ... but recently its really taken off. I assume that most of the surge is down to AI bots, but I hope that not all of it is.
Good luck with your own blog.
All the best,
Bob
Many congratulations and you are an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteFunny Little Wars,
DeleteCheers ... and thank for writing an equally inspiring blog!
All the best,
Bob
This is a grand achievement, Bob! I recently read a tech article claiming that 57% of all page views are generated by non-human interactions. These are not necessarily bots but increasingly human “assisted” AI searches and AI-related LLM scrubbing.
ReplyDeleteJonathan Freitag,
DeleteCheers! The explanation regarding the increase of hits being down to assisted AI searches rather than just simple AI bot searches makes a lot of sense.
All the best,
Bob
Don't know if bots count but maybe you can put some ads up and some white text ai command to ask the to click and make a dime off the bots.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand congratulations on an amazing achievement!!! Inspirational numbers for an inspirational blog!!
Rittmeister Krefeld,
DeleteCheers ... and thank for your suggestion. I've always steered clear of having ads on my blog, although if I had, I may have made a bit of income from my blog by now.
All the best,
Bob
