Over the past few days there seems to have been quite a lot of PORTABLE WARGAME action taking place ... but I have still not managed to set up a battle myself! As far as I know, the following PORTABLE WARGAME battle reports have been published over the past few days
- Kaptain Kobold has refought the Battle of Bull Run twice(!) using his modified version of the rules.
- Ottoman Turks and revolting Arabs have been in combat on David Crook's wargames table.
- Jim Duncan's newly finished 10mm British and German armies have been in action.
Hi Bob,
ReplyDeleteDon't worry - I am sure that you will make up for lost time sooner rather than later!
All the best,
DC
David Crook,
ReplyDeleteI am sure that you are right ... but I just wish that I had the time now.
All the best,
Bob

ReplyDeleteStrangely trying out my version of the game is what's keeping me sane at the moment; we're in the middle of moving house. My portable ACW is the only game I now have at the old house where we're still living; all my other gaming stuff is in boxes at the new house.
I've been pondering rule changes whilst shifting boxes and driving back and forth, and testing them out when I've been at home :)
Kaptain Kobold,
ReplyDeleteI am really pleased to hear the your ACWPW setup has helped to keep you wargaming (and sane) at such a stressful and trying time.
One problem I have been trying to cope with recently is the fact that my wargames/toy room has been somewhat chaotic of late. (My wife's decision to give the whole house a deep clean before Christmas has led to the room being used as a dumping ground for stuff from other parts of the house that needs to be sorted out.) In fact its contents have probably been as disrupted as they might have been had I also been moving house!
Things are finally being sorted out, and with luck I might actually know where everything is by the end of today. I can then begin to think about setting up a battle.
The upside of the disruption has been a degree of reorganisation and new storage in my wargames/toy room, and I will be writing a blog entry about it later today or sometime tomorrow.
All the best (and I hope that the house move goes well),
Bob
