Progress with my Portable Napoleonic Wargame book

After a period of hiatus when I just could not seem to get the motivation to do any substantial work on my PORTABLE NAPOLEONIC WARGAME book, I'm finally back in the swing and have been fighting the second exemplar battle that will be featured in the book.

Here are some of the images I intend to use:

The battle is now reaching a stage where both sides will begin fighting each other in earnest, and I hope to write a further, illustrated blog entry about it later this week.

  1. Hi Bob,

Looking good so far and I am looking forward to the AAR in due course. I note the infantry units made up from four bases - are you having stacking limits per grid area (4 bases is 2 units as I recall) or this a revision? I must confess that the four bases looks very imposing!

    All the best,

    DC

    1. David Crook,

I hope to finish fighting the battle later today or sometime tomorrow.

In the PNW: DIVISION rules, two infantry units (four bases) are allowed in the same grid area. This makes it easier to field a division on an 8 x 8 or 8 x 9 grid and still have room to manoeuvre.

      All the best,

      Bob

    1. Maudlin Jack Tar,

I'm not sure if the book will be finished by Christmas, but I'm going to try my best to hit that deadline.

      All the best,

    1. Ross Mac,

Cheers! I tried to keep the terrain as simple as I could.

I think the buildings were bought in the Netherlands or Belgium, and are ideal for wargaming because their 'footprint' is small in compared to their height.

      All the best,

      Bob

    1. Tradgardmastare (Alan),

Thanks for your kind comment about the photographs.

I'm beginning to make steady progress with the book again, and although I suspect that I will miss my self-imposed Christmas deadline, I should have the bulk of the work completed by then.

      All the best,

      Bob
