Preparing for COW

I have spent a large chunk of today preparing the necessary documentation for my session at COW2013 ... Operation Vijay.

Not a lot has been written about this short war between Indian and Portugal, but what I have managed to find has kept me very busy. This has turned out to be a real historical research project on my part as I wanted to ensure that all the players received realistic personal briefings and accurate military and intelligence information.

Part of my work was the creation of an hour-by-hour time line of events ... and even now I am not absolutely sure that it is anywhere near 100% correct! That said, anyone who wants to run or umpire the game in the future should be able to do so without too much difficulty, and will be able to give a very detailed debrief to the participants.

All I have to do now is to draw the necessary maps!

  1. I'd better get on with the toys then!

  2. Tim Gow,

I suspect that preparing the toys might take slightly less time then it took me to prepare the briefings and background information.

    All the best,

    Bob

  3. I'd be interested to see the briefings published in the Nugget or similar as I'm working on my first Megablitz scenario at the moment....

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  4. Peter,

You may have to wait some time as the game won't be played until COW in July ... and then the editor has to decide when to publish the whole thing in THE NUGGET.

If you remind me in August, I will try to send a copy of everything to you ... but be warned, there is a lot of it!

    All the best,

    Bob

  6. Pete,

My pleasure. In the meantime, good luck with your own scenario.

    All the best,
