On Friday I had the honour of acting as Provincial Standard Bearer and part of the escort to the Provincial Grand Master of Hertfordshire when he visited the Installation Meeting of The Lodge of the Legion No. 9827 at Cheshunt.
At exactly 9.00pm – and in darkness – we toasted 'Absent Friends and Departed Comrades', and the Chaplain then recited

This was followed by the 'Last Post' (which was played by a bugler from the local Royal Marine cadets) and 'Reveille'. The Chaplain finished with:‘They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.’
Today members of the Lodge will attend as many Remembrance Day services as they can, and lay a Masonic wreath at all the War Memorials that they have identified and located within Hertfordshire.‘When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say,
For Their Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.’
‘We will remember them.’
