Having taken part in the US Naval War College's SECOND BATTLE OF JUTLAND wargame at the National Maritime Museum last November, I was very pleased to see that US Naval History and Heritage Command has recently published Norman Friedman's WINNING A FUTURE WAR: WAR GAMING AND VICTORY IN THE PACIFIC WAR.
The book does not appear to be available to buy as yet (all the links I tried did not seem to take me where I needed to go) BUT it is available as a free downloadable PDF file. It is a big file, but I have downloaded it so that I can read it on my PC and my iPad.
From what I have read so far, I think that it will be regularly referenced in the future as a justification for military wargaming, and it is certainly going to be a classic study of the value of wargaming.
