I recently completed work on renovating, varnishing, and re-basing my first batch of 20mm-scale German World War II figures.
With the exception of a couple of Skytrex figures (and the Britannia Miniatures Russian who somehow sneaked in!), the figures were all manufactured by Raventhorpe. They are a little on the large size when compared to some other ranges, but I rather like them.

Bob,
ReplyDeleteYou have done a good job of The Germans. Just realized that 20mm is 1/87th...HO scale. Do you have Armour like ROCO Tanks etc ?..I think the Brand name is 'ROCO' and the scale is 1/87th...whereas OO is more 23mm at 1/76.2 scale..or so...and 1/72nd is more 24mm. Regards. KEV.
Kev Robertson (Kev),
DeleteThese figures are definitely more 1/72nd than 1/76th, atlthough I have no scruples about using them alongside vehicles that are 1/87th-scale. I have hundreds of ROCO Minitanks in storage boxes, and they form the bulk of my 20mm-scale World War II collection. I've acquired them over the years as and when they have been on sale in shops or online. Their condition can best be described as variable ... but after a bit of TLC they will be more that adequate for my needs.
All the best,
Bob

MIN ManofTin,
DeleteI had seen that the book had been published, but I have yet to buy a copy. Have you read it, and is it worth buying?
All the best,
Bob
Bob I think it gives an interesting insight both on the frontline and behind the scenes (including occupied territory) on the Eastern Front. I gave a brief review on my blog link above. Mark
ReplyDeleteMIN ManofTin,
