A further batch of renovated 20mm-scale German figures

After the short break I took from painting before my recent eye test, I have now renovated another batch of 20mm-scale German figures to add to my collection.

These figures were bought ready-painted from eBay, and it was my original intention just to re-base them, touch up any damage they had acquired over the years, and then varnish them. In the end the touching up became a major re-paint, but the time spent was not wasted, and the figures now look the same as the figures that are already in my collection.

  1. Hi Bob, Excellent Restoration- Re-Paint work there- the figures look great! How did your Eye Test go? You may have mentioned your results in a previous Posting- if I've missed it- sorry. Should be getting colder there in England - with Snow and all for Winter...we're experiencing very hot days here- terrifying Bush Fires to the North of NSW and South East Queensland. Things could be much better. Stay well Friend. Cheers. KEV.

    1. Kev Robertson (Kev),

Cheers! The figures have turned out very well indeed, and they fit in nicely with the other figures I have renovated.

My eye test showed that my cataracts have not got worse, and the eyesight in my left eye has actually improved slightly,

The weather in the UK has been very wet, with bad floods in parts of the a Midlands and Yorkshire. Some places had a month's worth of rain in a day. It is also getting colder, especially night, and we have had overnight frost on several days in the last week or so.

We've been following the news about the bushfires, and have been hoping that the authorities will be able to ensure that they get them under control and therefore avoid further losses of life and property.

      Stay safe,

      Bob

  4. Looking good, and I would imagine that you are reaping the benefits of living pretty much on top of a hill.

    1. Chris Kemp,

Cheers! Living 300' above sea level does have some advantages when it rains, but it hasn't stopped the telephone calls from various insurance companies offering me flood insurance! Some parts of SE18 (those by the River Thames) are at risk of flooding, but not the whole postcode area ... which seems to have escaped the insurance companies.

      All the best,

      Bob

    1. Geordie an Exile FoG,

Cheers! I started my wargaming using 20mm-scale figures (Airfix figures and Airfix & ROCO Minitanks vehicles), and it is still my favourite size of figure.

      All the best,

      Bob
