There were far more Hadendowa figures in my collection than I had realised, and I have ended up with three units armed with firearms and eleven units armed with swords and spears. The former will be the army’s regular troops and the others will be the army’s irregular tribal militia.
I hope to varnish the figures later today, and if it is not too hot tomorrow (it is predicted to be somewhat colder than it has been over the past few days), I hope to begin painting the edges of the bases.
Ahh those sneaky Hadendowah, there are almost always more than you thought!
ReplyDeleteRoss Mac,
DeleteThere are so many that I am contemplating splitting the army into two or three smaller ones … which could then fight each other if the need arose.
All the best,
Bob
I'm looking forward to seeing the results. It's always good to have enough figures on hand to fight revolts, civil wars and coups.
ReplyDeleteMark Cordone,
DeleteI hope to get them finished by the middle next week … assuming that it cools down a bit here. My toy/wargame room is currently ‘enjoying’ a temperature of over ninety degrees, even with the tower fan going full blast, and I’ve only managed to varnish half the figures. After about forty-five minutes it was getting too hot stay there, so I’ve stopped and will go back when the sun has gone down and it begins to cool down.
All the best,
Bob

ReplyDeleteAm I seeing the possibility of a 'Hauserian Empire' campaign in the offing? I have always been intrigued by the notion of a beleaguered Central African empire under pressure from barbaric Anglo-Saxon, Gallic and Teutonic hordes from another continent, eager to plunder yet more wealth and resources. You know for whom I'd be cheering, eh?
Cheers,
Ion
Archduke Piccolo (Ion),
DeleteThere is a distinct possibility that something along those lines may well be on the cards. I still have a whole load more Sudanese figures to renovate etc., certainly enough for at least one sizeable beturbaned army that will suitable for pseudo-African/Indian nations.
All the best,
Bob
