5,000,000 hits!
I just realised that my blog has achieved over five million hits! The blog achieved a million hits by December 2015, three million by December 2018 (I missed when it achieved two million hits), four million hits by November 2021 ... and now it has passed five million hits.
I started my blog on Thursday 18th September 2008, and since then I have written over 5,350 posts, had more than 43,250 comments, and attracted over 400 followers. I don't think that's bad for something that I described as being 'self-publicising, self-centred, self-indulgent' back when I started!
Content, Bob -
ReplyDeleteThere's volume - plenty of posts - and there's content: plenty of good stuff to see here. After 14 years I've not got even got close to my first million of 'hits', but that is in part because my output is far less: just 688 posts, attracting 189 followers and 6,066 comments. I'm grateful to have attracted any interest at all!
Congratulations upon the milestone, Bob, and ... keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Ion

DeleteCheers! One thing that I’ve always tried to do is to engage with my regular blog readers, and I think that has helped. I hate blogs where I make a comment … and then hear nothing in response.
Your output is always interesting and seems more focused than mine … and deserves wider recognition in the blogosphere.
All the best,
Bob
BOB- That is some tally- I don't worry about the number of views as I'm more concerned to have an amount of Comments- to me that is more important as I do like to reply to people and have some discussion. Cheers. KEV.
ReplyDeleteKev Robertson (Kev),
DeleteCheers! Like you, I like to engage with my blog readers and find the Comments an excellent way to do this.
All the best,
Bob
it is always gratifying to know one's blog generates so much interest. Well done!
ReplyDeleteQuantrilltoy,
DeleteCheers! This milestone rather crept up on me. A few weeks ago it was some way away … and then I realised I had passed it!
All the best,
Bob
Congrats - every one well earned
ReplyDeleteGeordie an Exiled FoG,
DeleteThanks very much for your kind words.
All the best,
Bob
Wow, that is impressive Bob! I just checked mine and I'm at a paltry 340k or thereabouts, with over a 100 followers, but hardly any bother commenting other than a core of 10 or so.
ReplyDeleteSteve J.,
DeleteWell, I have been blogging for a long time …
One of the reasons why I set my blog up was to teach my IT students about creating a blog using html. I decided to use one that was hobby-related as my example, and the rest - as they say - is history.
It took a long time to get off the ground, but once I retired and had more time to write, my readership grew and grew.
All the best,
Bob
