Army Blue begins to take shape

I have managed to varnish and base the first five units of my FUNNY LITTLE WARS/PORTABLE WARGAME ARMY BLUE.

The figures are 15mm Minifigs that I painted back in the mid 1980s, and I have found enough figures to add quite a few more infantry units to this army. In fact, once the cavalry, machine gun, and artillery units have been added, it will probably be the biggest of my small armies ... if that isn't a contradiction in terms!

  1. They look good. Were they originally ACW union, or Franco Prussian war French?

    1. Mark Cordone,

They were Minifigs ACW figures that I painted in a sort of hybrid ACW/FPW uniform.

      All the best,

      Bob

  2. Toy soldiers can be very patient. Will you add some cavalry, artillery and a commander to make them battle ready before you conscript the remaining infantry?

    1. Ross Mac,

I have ordered the necessary reinforcement to round out the army, including sufficient officers for the ‘extra’ infantry.

      All the best,

      Bob

They do look pretty, don’t they! They will make excellent opponents for my ARMY KHAKI and ARMY BLACK.

      All the best,

      Bob

  4. Hi BOB,
Very neat work on your 15mm Minifigs- yes, Minifigs do have a certain charm about them- very nice. Army BLUE is certainly developing at a very good pace- well done. Regards. KEV.

I’d forgotten how nice these figures are. Not too much detail and easy to paint.

      All the best,

      Bob

  5. Bob,
Somewhat ironic that the thing one notices most about Army Blue is its bright red headgear!

'Les kepis rouges sont les Bleus' their commander might have said...

But they do look very smart.

    Best wishes,
    Arthur

      Cheers!

I should have called them ARMY KEPI ROUGE, but I had already allocated the name ARMY BLUE to them!

      All the best,

      Bob
